Unleash the Fun at Pawdi Gras

Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 9th, and get ready to celebrate the spirit of Mardi Gras with a Super Bowl twist at Pawdi Gras, presented by Plaquemines Parish Seafood Fest. Pawdi Gras is our vibrant and playful pet parade held in Belle Chasse every year right after Mardi Gras.

Come out and enjoy a day of engaging family-friendly activities such as: a pre-party tailgate, a Mardi Gras-themed costume contest, royalty selection ceremony, exciting vendors, a parade full of our adorable, adoptable animals, and a post-party all in support of animals and pet families in need in Plaquemines Parish. There will be a pet food drop-off donation station in support of pets in need.

Avoid the Ruff Stuff: Pawdi Gras Do’s and Dont’s

The safety and well-being of all attendees, including children and pets, is our top priority. Here are some do’s and don’ts for this year’s parade.

Here’s What to Do:

• Have Fun!
• Properly leash and harness your pet. All pets must be leashed at all times.
• Dress safe and comfortable – if costuming, be sure you and you pet can move and breath easily.
• Respect others around you. Be kind and safe while catching throws.
• Bring your pet(s) ID tags in case you are separated.
• Stay hydrated – be sure to have plenty of water for you and your pet.

Here’s What Not to Do:

• Don’t bring aggressive pets or animals that are overwhelmed by crowds and noise.
• Don’t forget to cleanup trash and pet waste.
• Don’t leave your pet unattended
• Don’t block the parade route or other’s views
