After suspending adoptions due to Hurricane Ida, the Louisiana SPCA is resuming the service. To celebrate the reopening, adoption fees are reduced Oct. 26 thru 30 to just $25 for dogs over six months, and all cats at both Louisiana SPCA campuses. Each adoptable will be vaccinated, spayed, or neutered and microchipped. Each adoption will also include a free bag of pet food, 30 days of free pet insurance and one week of free dog training. Normal adoption procedures will apply.
Following Hurricane Ida, we saw a huge uptick in animals that needed our help and adoptions were temporarily paused. As a regional leader in transport and disaster response for animals, our efforts after the disaster were focused on helping animals directly impacted by Ida by rescuing and transporting those that were ready for adoption to partner shelters across the country.
The Louisiana SPCA is the oldest and largest open-admission animal shelter in the region and grants refuge to unwanted, injured or abused animal.
