Thank you so much for your interest in becoming a volunteer with the Louisiana SPCA! Our work would not be possible without the dedication, passion and determination each and every volunteer brings to our organization. Volunteers are integral to our day-to-day operations and the overall success of the programs and services we offer. We know you’ll make a great addition to our incredible volunteer team and look forward to seeing you!

How To Become A Volunteer
The first step to becoming a volunteer is to submit your application and attend online orientation. There is a $40 fee associated with becoming a volunteer which covers the cost of your own apron, t-shirt, name tag, safety whistle and training. During orientation you’ll learn about our volunteer program and different ways you can get involved.
To be a volunteer you must:
Court-Ordered Community Service
If you are interested in completing court-ordered community service hours with us please call 504.368.5191.
Group Volunteers
While most of our volunteer opportunities are ideal for individual volunteers, we do accept large groups of volunteers for service days! The ideal group size is no more than 10-15 people for 2 hours. All group members under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Sample projects for group volunteers include landscaping, prepping toys for our enrichment program, event assistance and administrative and animal care support. Rest assured that your group will have dedicated time to play with our adoptable animals!
Please note there is a minimum $100 donation request for all volunteer groups. To sign up to volunteer as a group please email volunteer@laspca.org.
