Housing Resources
Our friends at the Humane Society of the United States, the Association for Animal Welfare Advancement and Human Animal Support Services have compiled a list of housing resources for pet parents. With so many people in the United States facing eviction, they have partnered with shelters across the country to provide resources to pet parents in need.
Food Pantry
Our Food Pantry was created to help struggling pet parents by providing pet food, litter, and other pet-related necessities like leashes and collars. All food pantry items must be picked up from our New Orleans campus.
Renter’s Rights/Eviction Support
One of the number 1 reasons we see pet’s surrendered to the Louisiana SPCA is because of landlord issues. If you’re struggling to keep your pet due to challenges with your landlord or if you’re seeking housing information in the New Orleans area, we have compiled a list of helpful resources
Pets For Life
Our Pets for Life program is proud to provide pet parents support services in under-served communities as part of our mission to keep people and pets together. We are dedicated to bridging the gap between animal service providers and people and pets living in poverty. Pets for Life promotes the understanding that a lack of financial means does not equate to a lack of love felt for and provided to a pet. Everyone’s lives can be enhanced by a pet, and those who choose to should have the opportunity to experience the unconditional love and meaningful relationship a pet brings.
Our current focal point for the Pets for Life program is 70126 in New Orleans East. By providing residents with access to spay/neuter, veterinary care, supplies and information for their pets, we are addressing the critical lack of accessible, affordable pet care in under-served communities, keeping pets healthy and happy in the homes they already have, and helping reduce the number of animals coming into our care.

Behavior & Training
Our amazing team of talented dog trainers are here to help with all of your behavior and training needs. If you need to teach your pet how to stop certain behaviors or even how to handle fear or aggression, our trainers can help. Low-Cost Vet Care
Our Community Clinic offers a variety of low-cost services like spay/neuter, annual wellness visits, vaccines and more! These services are offered year-round and reduced costs but we often have grants and special programs that allow us to offer them for free. If you are struggling to keep your pet due to medical reasons please reach out to our Community Clinic to talk about treatment options.
Re-Homing Your Pet
Re-homing your pet is a very difficult decision! If you’ve decided that finding your pet a new family is necessary, we’ve partnered with a national pet adoption site called GetYourPet.com. They can help you get your pet adopted, at no cost to you, directly to a good home with no time spent in an already full shelter. You choose your pet’s new home.

Pets in Pipes and Drains
Roto-Rooter will rescue pets and wildlife stuck in pipes or drains for free. Their technicians use state-of-the-art machinery, drain/sewer video cameras and even industrial excavation equipment. They will event tour your home or business to see if drains or pipes are easily accessible to pets or wildlife and help you find solutions to keep your animals safe.
